One of the easiest ways to give your house a new look is to purchase new throw pillows. Stick to wintery colors and simple patterns. Blues are a popular choice, especially for wintertime. Fresh linens can also spruce up the home and give it a new feel. 

Add Greenery

Whether you are one of those folks that keep their tree up until February or take it down the day after Christmas, you can still incorporate greenery into your home in the winter. Start with the front porch and add some live plants wrapped in burlap. You can always plant the tree or bush later in the year. Another excellent option is clipping some branches of the old Tannenbaum and placing them as a centerpiece or a welcoming wreath. You can intertwine other natural pieces, such as pinecones or berries. Add a cute snowman or red cardinal for a little pop. 

Find a Focal Point

One more way to change the look in your home is to look for a focal piece. Find a quirky chair and paint or refinish. Search out resale shops and antique malls for a functional but unique piece of furniture. This can change the whole look and feel of a room by drawing your eye. Anything can work but focus on something that reflects your taste and style.
